Let’s look at cash flow. To evaluate cash flow, include only income that you earn from a job.
My cash flow is positive. What I earn from any employment is greater than what I need to live on.
My cash flow is negative. What I earn from any employment is less than what I need to live on. This may be because I’m retired or can’t find a job that pays me enough.
